Nainital-Bhowali Road wiped away for Heavy Rainfall

The weather department on Friday predicted that widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rain and thunderstorms or lightning is very likely over Uttarakhand from Friday to 2nd August .



Huge rainfall triggered a series of landline in Nainital district on Friday . Because of this rainfall a major portion of the important Nainital-Bhowali Road has been wiping away . And according to an official its Restoration will take at least a week . 

Nainital-Bhowali Road is one of the three major connecting roads to the hill station . Due to the heavy rainfall in the past weeks a lot of other roads has blocked with mounds of rubble .

"An entire hillock gave way, taking down a major portion of the Nainital-Bhowali road as it slid. Let's see how long it takes us to restore it, but it should not take any less than a week ."–Dhiraj Garbiyal ,DM of Nainital after carrying out an inspection .

Mr. Garbiyak also said that —The traffic has been diverted for the time being via Haldwani.

Roads are blocked by Heavy Rainfall


Cheenagarh-Amjad-Midar, Bhalyuti, Konta-Kokad, Siltona-Bajudi, Fatehpur-Bail Basani, Bajun-Adhuda, Bhorsa-Pinoro and Kainchi-Hartapa are among the other roads which are blocked or affected by the Rain .

The district of Haldwani has recieved the maximum of 191 mm rain in the past 24 hours .
