Mirabai Chanu clinches India's 1st Gold Medel of Commonwealth Games 2022, shatters Games record in women's weightlifting.

Commonwealth Games 2022: India's ace weightlifter Mirabai Chanu won gold in women's 49 kg category

The honourable Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi congratulated Mirabai Chanu, the star weightlifter on winning a Gold Medel in the Commonwealth Games 2022 . Mr. Modi has said — “ Mirabi''s sucess inspires several Indians , especially budding Athletes ”.

Mirabai Chanu ( 49 kg ) went on a record-smashing spree , claiming four of them in a power-packed performance, to claim India's first Gold Medel at CWG here on 30th July, 2022, Saturday .

Mr. Narendra Modi tweeted — “ The exceptional @mirabai_chanu makes India proud once again! Every Indian is delighted that she's won a Gold and set a new Commonwealth record at the Barmingham Games. Her sucess inspires several Indians, especially budding Athletes ”.

CWG 2022: Dominant Mirabai Chanu Wins Gold In Women's 49 kg Category

In a remarkable performance, Mirabai Chanu smashed the Commonwealth Games record in snatch . The Silver Medalist in Olympic obliterated the Games record in clean and jerk as well as total lift .

Mirabai ended with a total lift of 201 kg ( 88 kg + 113 kg ),  which is far from her personal best . She equalled her national record lift of 88 kg in the qualification section .

With this Gold Medel Mirabai added a third CWG Medel to her kitty . She have won Silver and Gold in Glasgow and Gold in Coast Editions respectively .
